Planning an RV trip with your family? While an RV vacation is a great way to make meaningful memories and bond with your loved ones, staying in a new place and traveling for long periods of time can be hard on children. To ensure you and your kids have an amazing trip out on the open road, read over our helpful tips below.

Keep Them Entertained

A bored child is often rambunctious and even grumpy in some cases. To keep your child from becoming frustrated or developing a bad attitude, be sure to bring along plenty of activities for them to do. This can include items that will keep your child entertained by themselves, such as books or video games, or things you can do together—like board games or arts and crafts.

Follow a Schedule

While a vacation can bring about a lot of exciting change, too much excitement all at once can sometimes overwhelm children, leading to unexpected outbursts or tantrums. To ensure your child doesn’t end up overwhelmed by so many new activities, do your best to follow a schedule and keep daily events—such as mealtimes and bathtimes—at the same time every day. It can also help to sit down and explain to your child what tomorrow’s activities will likely include—whether that’s driving in the RV all day, or going out to hike around your campsite.
